2012 Resolutions

This year 2012 will be a new start…

Like many of you I have resolutions for this new year. However, this might well be the first time I make my list (or at least part of my list) public.
I’m not sure why, but to me, 2012 sounds like a year full of promises. I’ll legally become an adult (because inside, I just know there’s a part of me that just won’t grow up), I’ll be graduating high school (hopefully with an IB diploma, if everything goes well), getting my driver’s licence, deciding what I’ll be doing/studying in the upcoming years, etc.
Not only that, but I feel it’ll be a year during which I’ll sort of be able to start part of my life anew.
Simply the fact that I’ll be graduating high school will mean I will have to say goodbye to many dear friends, but also that I’ll meet a lot of new people, whatever I do and wherever I go. To me, that is something both exciting and daunting.
To make things easier I have a list I’ll try to make myself hold onto this year, even if everything else changes:

Graduate HS with IB diploma
Get my driving licence
Follow my dreams
Write a little every day
Eat healthier
Excercise

And then — I forgot to mention — I have some more specific writing goals. They’ll be a challenge, but you know what? It’s not like I’ve never liked a challenge before! ;)

Finish a presentable/good draft of The Time of Cherry Blossoms
Complete first draft of Keeper of Darkness
Have a fairly complete plan/outline of SecretNovel
Have a complete outline of at least one other novel (I have plenty to work with for this one = no excuse!)
Participate in NaNoWriMo 2012

So here you go people! I have a pretty full year ahead! But I do think it’ll be exciting!
One thing I still want to share with you lot (particularly for other writers out there), is the idea of the Progress Chart, inspired by Judith Graves (from her recent blog post). I find it very useful already; it keeps things clear, and you really need to check only one document to see your progress on all you writing work (as long as you keep it up to date of course).
